Halo Infinite is a first-person shooter game that will be released in 2021 by 343 Industries and Xbox Game Studios. Following Halo 5: Guardians, it is the sixth mainline entry in the Halo series and the third in the "Reclaimer Saga" (2015). On the Forerunner ringworld Zeta Halo, better known as Installation 07, the campaign follows the human supersoldier Master Chief and his campaign against the hostile Deported. The multiplayer component of the game is free to play, unlike prior iterations in the franchise.

Infinite was supposed to be published on November 10, 2020, as a launch title for the Xbox Series X/S, however it was pushed back until August 2020. The campaign was launched on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on December 8, 2021, following an open beta release of the multiplayer component on November 15, 2021, which coincided with the franchise's 20th anniversary.

In August, Halo Infinite will get its huge cooperative play update, allowing you to wander the vast world with a fellow Master Chief. The developers at 343 Industries haven't said which platforms the beta will be available on, although it's probable that both PC and console versions will be available at some point.

The campaign co-op in Halo Infinite has been a long time coming, and its debut will finally add a series staple to the current installment. Halo has always allowed many players to participate in its narrative missions since its release in 2001. Even though the split-screen option was removed from Halo 5: Guardians in 2015, online fireteams were still supported. Halo Infinite was meant to be the first game in the franchise to offer an open environment with support for a co-op campaign. However, 343 Industries postponed the mode in August 2021, stating that it will be released in the game's second season. After Halo Infinite opened its campaign in December 2021 with a series of hard encounters that felt clearly designed to be tackled by two or more people, the absence was palpable. 

Season 2 of Halo Infinite launched in early May, and the debut was a little rocky, as is typically the case with live service games.
