Wraith: The Oblivion: Afterlife, a virtual world thriller console game produced and released by
Swedish firm Fast Travel Games, in 2021. It is part of the broader World of Darkness franchise and
is centered on White Wolf Publishing's 1994 computer video game Wraith: The Oblivion. With
connectivity for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Quest, Valve Index VR, and Oculus Rift headsets,
the game was released for Oculus Quest PlayStation VR. The player assumes the character of a
newly deceased wraith as they wander the Barclay Manor and unravel afterlife mysteries. It's an
investigation into what it takes to be human, and it's motivated by evil in gameplay such as Alien:
Isolation and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. From a first-person viewpoint, the game is storyline-based
and focuses on adventure and secrecy. Combat is included in the game, though it is not the
primary focus. The player assumes the position of a wraith who evolves and acquires new skills as
they travel the gamespace. These abilities can be used to physically adapt to the environment.
Wraithgrasp, which allows the gamers to handle items from afar and affect their environment;
enhanced senses, which let them listen to murmurs in the distance and hunt other ghosts; and
insubstantiality, which enables them to pass through walls, are among the few Skills. The game
takes place in the modern Barclay Manor in the Dark dungeon, an urban fiction world similar to
Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse in which vampires live in secret among
humans. After dying in the mansion, a recently dead soul discovers truths of the afterlife, including
the cause for their demise, in the Shadowlands—a replica of the human world, where the dead stay
invisible, alongside the living.
The hero wakes up with no memory of how they deceased and is led into the manor by their ghost
a malevolent voice symbolizing a wraith's identity tendencies and dark mind – at the start of the
game. Other hauntings appear as they investigate the manor. A teaser trailer for the game was
launched in June 2020, and a demo video was revealed during Gamescom in August 2020. It is
available for Microsoft Windows and Android as a native Oculus Quest app on 22nd April 2021, On
25th May 2021, a SteamVR version was released, followed by a PlayStation 4 edition later that
year.
