Bugsnax is an adventure video game created by Young Horses, an independent game studio. Players explore a mysterious island in search of and capture the game's titular half-bug, half-snack critters. On June 11, 2020, an announcement trailer for the game was shown during Sony's PlayStation 5 live-streamed reveal event. The game's theme song, which was used in the announcement trailer, was performed by British indie pop band Kero Kero Bonito. On November 12, 2020, the game was launched on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and macOS. Bugsnax: The Isle of Bigsnax, an expansion pack, was announced on October 27, 2021, and will be released on April 28, 2022, with the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S.

Bugsnax, the adorable puzzle-adventure game set on an island teeming with bugs made of food, will receive a huge, free content update on April 28, according to creator Young Horses. The Isle of Bigsnax, a Bugsnax add-on, will transport players to a new island brimming with new food-bug-things to catch.

Bugsnax and its free update will also be released on new platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The game will also be available on Steam. In Bugsnax: The Isle of Bigsnax, a new landmass will be added to the main game. There will be all-new missions, riddles, and Bugsnax to find in that new habitat. The Cellystix, a celery stick bug; the Cheddorb, a rolling port wine cheeseball Bunger Royale, an enormous Bunger with tater tots for limbs; Tikka Masala, a cicada with naan wings Spaghider, an eight-legged mass of pasta; and more creative mashups of munchies and bugs will all be new to the game.

The Isle of Bigsnax, according to Young Horses, will have three to four hours of new game material, with voice actors Yuri Lowenthal, Casey Mongillo, Debra Wilson, and Haviland Stillwell returning to give new tasks and conversations. In addition to new features for the main game, Bugsnax's April update includes a new letter system in which island residents will give you challenges. Players can earn gifts by completing these challenges, which they can spend to adorn their personalized hut, which serves as a living and storage area. Fast travel will be available to console players as well.

Explorer Elizabert Megafig has invited the visitor to the island, which is home to the renowned half-bug half- snack monsters. Your host is nowhere to be seen, her tent is in disorder, and her troops are scattered around the island when you arrive. You're then entrusted with finding, hunting, and catching all 100 of the island's bug-like creatures, as well as "tracking down" and rejoining the island's residents.

With additional mail tasks from the grampuses to do, headgear to obtain for Snax, and your very own hut to decorate and call home in the DLC, you'll have even more to do on the main island of the original game.

The main campaign in Bugsnax takes roughly seven hours to finish, while the extra content in The Isle of Bigsnax takes three to four hours. Even better, the Bugsnax of Bugsnax is getting a huge upgrade they'll be able to wear hats. Young Horses claims that these hat-wearing critters are Bugsnax's Shiny Pokémon.
