South Florida's own professional League of Legends Esports team of Misfits Gaming has recently been thwarted into the limelight as the team's Jungler - Lucjan 'Shlatan' Ahmad was awarded the coveted award of Rookie of the Year for the LEC Spring Split in LoL's 2022 Esports circuit.
The LEC Spring Split 2022 saw the involvement of many rookies from various teams in Esports, such as G2 Esports bot laner Victor "Flakked" Lirola, MAD Lions bot laner William "Unforgiven" Nieminen, and Misfits support Mertai "Mersa" Sari, other than Shlatan, all of whom performed exceptionally well and any one of them could have been the contenders for the Rookie award for the Spring Split.
Misfits Gaming clocked in at 3rd for the LEC Spring Split with a final scoreline of 12-6. Having made into the Playoffs stage by being 2nd on the leaderboards, short only of two points from leaderboard toppers Rogue, the Misfits couldn't hold onto their winning streak by having been unfortunately defeated by G2 Esports, thus making sure that they were out of the running for the title of winners of the Spring Split.
Even though Misfits lost out to G2 Esports, they surprised the community as well as professional analysts through the way they put up a decent performance in the regular season. Many highlighted the importance of their mid-laner Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié as the core factor for their success (he was able to win 10 MVP awards in the regular season). However, many feel that Shlatan is one of the standout players on the roster.
Before getting an opportunity to play in the big leagues, Shlatan played in the regional leagues of Europe. The jungler played for teams such as K1CK Neosurf and Misfits Premier for several years, before grabbing a spot in the main LoL roster for Misfits Gaming.
