The technological company has recently released the SkyHawk AI HDD, which boasts of a massive storage space of 20TB. The initiative from Seagate is aimed at video game recorders with AI-backed intelligence. Even though such an high-end HDD is not meant for casual gamers like us, this is a good sign that Seagate is right on track to deliver on the promise of 50TB hard disk drives by 2026.

In the previous year of 2021, Seagate launched its relatively new model of Mach.2 Exos 2X14, weighing in at an impressive storage space of 14TB, and from that point on, the company has continued to release much more advanced HDD's with much denser space available to the users. The company is now currently offering 20TB storage space in the IronWolf Pro and Exos X20, with the latest product of SkyHawk AI being the latest to offer treatment in the tune of 20TB.

Mach.2 Exos 2X14 was a special case by Seagate to squeeze out the impressive transfer rate of 524MB/s —something you won't find in a normal gaming PCs. Seagate has released plenty of drives since, like this one, to make do with the more consumer-friendly SATA 6GB/s interface. It isn't as fast as the Exos mind, topping out at a sustained transfer rate of 260MB/s. Seagate since the release of the Exos model, has further released plenty of affordable drives which are more consumer-friendly. Gamers or users of high-end HDD's should keep in mind that the later models aren't as fast as the Exos, and top out at a viable transfer rate of 260MB/s.
