Xbox Game Pass has had a particularly memorable month, with March 2022 jam-packed with incoming Game Pass titles and new game launches. March has been marked by major releases such as Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13, indie titles such as Kentucky Route Zero and Zero Escape: The Nonary Games, and Day One releases such as Tunic and FAR: Changing Tides. But the month isn't finished yet. Xbox Game Pass will have one more Day One release before the end of March 2022.

The last game, scheduled for March 2022, is hardly a surprise. Xbox Game Pass customers have been aware of its impending arrival for some time. Weird West is the debut game from WolfEye, the intriguing startup firm founded by ex-Arkane founders Julien Roby and Raphael Colantonio. It's an isometric role-playing game set in a magical American frontier. It's heavy on gritty western genre tropes, so expect to see lots of lawmen, gunslingers, outlaws, and other characters with questionable moral standing.

Weird West is a Day One release on Xbox Game Pass, as previously stated. It goes on sale today, March 31, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be supported by Game Pass on both platforms. While Weird West is technically now officially released and available through select retailers, it may take some time before it becomes available to Xbox Game Pass customers. But it's only a question of time.

This isn't a surprise Xbox Game Pass release like Tunic was. Weird West was formally confirmed as an Xbox Game Pass title in December 2021 as part of The Game Awards 2021 celebrations. Weird West was supposed to be released on January 11th, but it was delayed three months due to various bothersome problems and glitches that surfaced when WolfEye was working on the game's final touches.

Early reactions to Weird West have been mixed. Many people see a lot of promise in the game's gloomy mood and rich environment, but many also criticise the combat mechanics and advancement track. There are many who appear to have fallen in love with Weird West and can't wait to see what WolfEye does with the game once it launches.
While this is the final Xbox Game Pass release of March, it doesn't mean there won't be more great projects in April. MLB The Show 22 will be released on April 5th, while Chinatown Detective Agency will be released on April 7th. Week after week, expect more Xbox Game Pass announcements.
