Hogwarts Legacy, an open-world action RPG rooted in the Harry Potter universe, was already announced for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. If you possess a Nintendo Switch and were disappointed when the game was not announced for the platform, here is good news for you: it will be released on the Switch.
The information initially surfaced when pre-orders for the store Best Buy went up (as spotted by Wario64). A product listing for a Nintendo Switch version may appear to be a system fault at first sight. However, Avalanche Software stated that Hogwarts Legacy will be accessible on Nintendo's hybrid platform in the FAQ section of the game's official website. Also, a snapshot from the FAQ website through Wayback Machine reveals no indication of Hogwarts Legacy coming to Switch.
Although the Nintendo Switch is not a graphics powerhouse, it has been shown to be capable of running AAA games. These titles, including Control Ultimate Edition, Hitman 3, and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, frequently come with a few stipulations, ranging from lesser resolution and FPS to cloud versions. Some AAA games, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Doom Eternal, and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, have been able to operate on the Nintendo Switch without being cloud versions. Even if those aren't the finest versions of the games, the fact that they work on the Switch is noteworthy.
The stunning reveal comes less than a day after a special State of Play show devoted solely to Hogwarts Legacy, during which we finally got to see some gameplay and hear more about the game's narrative.
This Christmas season, Hogwarts Legacy will be launched.
