After over a year of wait, the State of play focused on Hogwarts legacy will finally take place this week. 

PlayStation on 14th March’22 confirmed the event on their blog post “Live the Unwritten in Thursday’s Hogwarts Legacy State of Play”. The state of play will take place on Thursday, 17th March 2022 on the PlayStation YouTube channel, at 5PM5 PM ET/2 PM PT. will contain a lot of information on the next game from Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games, which will be released under the Portkey Games label. Given that the release date is still provisionally planned for this year, a formal release date might be announced at any time. 

After a long time, Harry Potter is topical again as the year started with the celebration of 20 years of ‘The Harry Potter movie series, reuniting the casts, crew and our childhood at Hogwarts, earlier in 2021 the ‘Fantastic Beasts: The secretes of Dumbledore’ came out confirming its release on 8th April 2022. With so much happening in the Wizarding Community this year, Playstation’s state of play will surely calm the frustrated Hogwarts Legacy fans. 

It is confirmed that the show will run for 20 minutes. "Featuring over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay captured on PS5, and concluding with some insight from a few members of the team at Avalanche Software who are bringing the Wizarding World to life," the official PlayStation blog post, attributed to WB Games Avalanche Community Manager Chandler Wood, reads in part. 

The notification also mentions that a PlayStation blog article about the game would be published after the event, which is quite standard.

Over the last several weeks, there have been numerous rumours and predictions that a Hogwarts Legacy update or trailer will be released this month. Since postponing the game until this year in early 2021, developer Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games have remained rather silent. We may receive more news soon, according to a brief official update towards the close of last year, and it looks that "March 2022" is the "soon" in this case. 

As previously stated, the latest PlayStation State of Play, which will focus on Hogwarts Legacy, will air on Thursday, March 17th at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
