Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a Borderlands spinoff based on a Borderlands 2 DLC component. The game is a whimsical and colorful spin on Borderlands' sense of humor and looter-shooter shenanigans, set against the backdrop of Tiny Tina playing Dungeons and Dragons. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be announced on March 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and we already know that it will have comprehensive cross-play support on all of these platforms.
Randy Pitchford of Gearbox Software tweeted the news, congratulating the engineers behind Tiny Tina's Wonderlands for enabling crossplay feasible. He singles out Sony and PlayStation, which isn't surprising considering that, of PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, it's usually PlayStation that lacks crossplay with other platforms (though Pitchford isn't explicitly highlighting them for that purpose). Developers revealed the difficulties of crossplay on PlayStation in 2019. Regardless, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have crossplay upcoming month.
This is the first time in a Borderlands game where complete crossplay is accessible. Borderlands 3 had a cross-platform play, with the exception of the PS4 and PS5. PlayStation was not included, despite the fact that no justification was offered. With crossplay now available in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, it appears that Gearbox has ironed out some of the previously mentioned difficulties.
Pitchford followed up with a tweet appealing for fans' forbearance if there are any challenges with the team's implementation of full cross-play, as this is new ground for them. "Whether there are any hiccups, please be patient with us." He declares, "This is difficult work, and none of the bases were built for it. We've worked tirelessly to make it happen and to make it as simple to be used as feasible, but this is an uncharted area, and the untamed is not a testing ground ".
