For Honor came out almost six years back at this point. The game got several updates which brought new content, playable characters, etc. It is a multiplayer game, that is available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. However, crossplay was not something that the game got, well so far that is. This is soon going to change as Ubisoft has announced that it is finally bringing crossplay to For Honor. And, it is happening quite soon as well.
For Honor’s crossplay will be added to the game in two phases. Now, we only have details for the release of the first phase at this point, as Ubisoft has not said much about the second phase’s release as of now. The first phase will be happening on March 17, 2022. This is also when the Year Six Season One for the game will be launching.
What are the changes with Phase 1?
Well, with Phase 1, Ubisoft has announced that cross-play would be available in matchmaking for PvE, and PvP modes. Players from Xbox, PC, and PlayStation will be able to play together with Phase 1. However, this is only limited to matchmaking for the first phase. Party play or group play is not something that would be possible in the first phase. Other than that, there will also be faster and better matchmaking due to the combined player pool of all three platforms.
What about Phase 2?
With Phase 2, you will be able to queue with your friends in the same group or party. So, if you want to play with your friends on different platforms, then you would have to wait for the second phase.
Sadly, we do not have any information on the release date for the second phase currently, as Ubisoft has not provided one. However, all we know is that it is in development currently, and will indeed release at a later date.
What to do if crossplay is not something you want?
Well, you can turn it off in the settings if you do not want to play with people from different platforms. By default, with the implementation of Phase 1 on March 17, the crossplay option will be enabled. But, you can go into settings, and find the Crossplay option under the Online menu. You can disable it if you want from there. However, with that, you would have a longer match queue, as you would only matchmake against the players on your platform. Not to mention,
