In a recent podcast with Colin and Samir, popular YouTuber Ludwig opened up about the toll that long hours of Twitch streaming takes, comparing it with the streaming scenario of YouTube which he claims is more relaxed. He took his argument ahead to explain why YouTubers are more successful than Twitch streamers in this aspect.

Well everyone, especially Ludwig Ahgren’s fans remember the unique and crazy marathon stream that rose him to prominence in March 2021. Before switching to YouTube from Twitch last year, Ludwig had run a challenging stream-‘subathon’, which bought him the limelight and broke his subscriber numbers on Twitch. He went for a 31-day broadcast where he streamed his entire life from gaming to sleeping to running daily errands.

As claimed by many Twitch streamers, the long 200 hours streaming contracts with Twitch make it really hard for them to run daily errands. Ludwig admitted that in the long run, this practice is harmful to their physical as well as mental health. This leads to streamers switching platforms.

Here’s what Ludwig said. “Twitch streamers are like an underbelly. They’re like barely able to survive as humans,” Ludwig claimed during a recent podcast with influencers Colin and Samir. “Half of them Uber Eats every single meal. They never pay any of their bills. Taxes are something they just forget about. And I was the same, I was slipping.”

“As opposed to YouTubers who are well put together, like basically Silicon Valley people to some extent – Twitch streamers will push themselves to go 150, 200, 250, 300 hours in a month, which is absurd. You know it’s like double a workweek just streaming,” the YouTuber continued. He further clarified it with an obvious question. “So then it’s like, okay when are you doing your laundry man? And the answer is, they’re not.”
