You all should be aware by now of the current ongoing situation between Ukraine and Russia. Anyway, I would not delve into much detail about that. However, it seems that most of the game developers, publishers, and even eSports organizations are against Russia. Their actions prove the same as well. And, it is not just the bodies that are related to gaming, various official sports bodies have similar feelings towards the issue. FIFA and UEFA have already banned Russia from playing in its leagues. Now, it seems that the same is going to happen in FIFA games made by EA Sports as well.

Recently a new statement was made by Electronic Arts on the EA SPORTS FIFA Twitter page. In this tweet, EA announced that they have initiated the process of removing all the Russian teams and clubs from their FIFA games. This includes FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile, FIFA Online, and NHL 22. Although EA has still not said anything about the upcoming FIFA 23 in this regard. Anyway, below you can see the actual statement that was made by Electronic Arts.

In the statement, EA Sports mentions that it stands in solidarity with all the Ukrainian people. They (EA) are also calling for peace, and want an end to the invasion of Ukraine that is being done by Russia currently. It adds that in line with the decisions taken by EA’s partners at FIFA, and UEFA, EA Sports has also taken the decision of removing the Russian Team, and all Russian clubs from the FIFA games that have been made by EA.

So, what does this mean for the players of the game?

Well, if you play the abovementioned FIFA games, and you have a preference for the Russian teams or clubs. Then, you would not be able to play with those now. The Russian National Team and the Russian clubs are now removed from the game. And, we do not know when they will be back, if ever. Now, we cannot comment on the inclusion, or exclusion of Russian teams and clubs in the upcoming FIFA 23. But, if things continue like this, then chances are that there would not be any Russian team, or clubs in the upcoming FIFA game either.
