When we are on the topic of horror survival shooter games that are also third person shooters, then the Resident Evil games are undoubtedly the most popular pick out there. Capcom has made numerous Resident Evil games and even remade some of its older games. The last game that was released is Resident Evil Village. Now, Village already had support for ray tracing as it was launched for next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X. But, now it seems that some of the other Resident Evil games Capcom are on their way to get support for ray tracing as well.
These are just the somewhat recently released Resident Evil games that are built on the same engine as Village. So, this includes Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and also Resident Evil 7. All of these games will get their next-gen console versions this year. Needless to say, once that happens, the PC players would also get a free update to make the game next-gen. So, with this update, PC players will be able to get ray tracing on the abovementioned Resident Evil games. And, it will be for free, as you would not be having to buy the game again. All of it will be done via a free update.
So, what would these new patches do?
With the new patches, the game would be having tons of visual upgrades. This includes real-time ray tracing, high frame rates, and 3D audio as well. So, just what you would need to make sure it is a proper upgrade for the next-gen consoles. All of the games that we mentioned, RE 7, RE 2 Remake, and RE 3 Remake are all amazing-looking games. And, once they receive the next-gen updates, they would look even better. After all, that is one of the reasons people go gaga over ray tracing right? Amazing, and detailed shadows and reflections.
If you are on console would you need to buy the games again?
No, that would not be the case. The owners of the games on consoles will get free to the next-gen version. And, for PC, we already said before, there will be free updates on the existing game that would make it so. Both the new updated version on the consoles and the update for PC version would be released at the same time.
