Have you played any of The House of the Dead games? Well, I personally grew up playing the first three games of the series and loved all of them. In fact, I enjoyed these games so much, I replayed them several times, especially House of the Dead 2 and 3. Back in 2019, the producer Takashi Oda did say that he plans on making three more games for the series. Now, it seems that we are getting a remake for the first, and the original The House of the Dead game that came out back in 1996. And, it has been already rated by ESRB. So, it is pretty much official and confirmed at this point.

We got this lead thanks to a tweet from Gematsu. This tweet does not only talk about the ESRB rating but also reveals the platform on which it will be made available. For now, The House of the Dead Remake has only been announced for Stadia. However, the tweet mentions that it might follow Panzer: Dragoon Remake in terms of the release. That is, first it will be released on Stadia. But, later it will also be ported to other popular platforms such as the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. This is just a hunch but seems very likely if you ask me.

As I said before, The House of the Dead games are something that I had a blast playing while growing up. There is certainly the nostalgia that makes me quite excited about the upcoming release of a remake. And, I am sure these emotions will also be shared by many who played The House of the Dead games before.

There have been six games in the series so far. All of the games are first-person light gun rail shooters. As the name indicates, it is indeed about going against various zombies, mutants, etc. This is one of the oldest video game series that is still running. The first House of the Dead came out back in 1996, and the latest one that has been released was back in 2018 - House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn.
