In one of Pokimane's recent streams, she talked about the hype around one's first or second award, the anticipation that goes into it, with the overwhelming joy after finally receiving it. Further, she pointed out how the enthusiasm fades away with time, more because at this stage of her career she wants new faces to come to the forefront and get recognition by getting involved in the whole event around award ceremonies. Thereby, she urged her fans to stop voting for her and instead vote for other talents in the Valorant category of QTCinderella’s viewer-voted “Streamer Awards”.

Here's what the Moroccan Canadian streamer had to say, “I didn’t really talk about it much yesterday because honestly, you guys can go vote for everybody except me,” she stated. She has been nominated in the Shorty’s, Streamy’s, Esports Awards and Canadian Game Awards. Moreover, she expressed the weird feelings she has grown towards promoting award shows.

“I have always felt weird promoting (award shows). Ever since I won the Shorty Awards, I just kind of stopped promoting award shows because most of the larger ones… I don’t want to get too into it, but I think they’re weird,” she claimed

Despite her detachment towards these award shows, the streamer is grateful to her fans for showering their love towards her through the immense votes in her name. “QT’s (award show) is just run by her. It’s for the community, by the community, and so that is one that I like.” She continued, “I do appreciate it a lot and I am flattered that anybody voted for me. But you don’t need to. If anything, I think it’s more hype when people get their first award or whatever.”
