Following the recent removal of Free Fire Max and Garena Free Fire from the App store and the removal of Garena Free Fire of Play Store in Indi, Garena changed the name of the official Free Fire Instagram and Discord handles to Garena Free Fire Max India. 

Garena Changes the Name of Free Fire Social Media Handles

The famous battle royale game Free Fire is currently banned in India due to the attachment of Garena to Tencent, which is a Chinese company. According to the Indian government, Free Fire is leaking data to China. And that's why the Indian Government took the step to remove the game along with 54 other Chinese apps from India. Before this, the developers of the game BGMI also filed a lawsuit against Garena accusing them that the company has been copying some mechanics of the game. However, this was not considered to be the reason for the sudden ban.

While some players suggest that the ban will be not be removed until the connection of Garena and Tencent is not removed, the developers changed the official Instagram and Discord handle name of Free Fire to Garena Free Fire Max India. This could only mean that Free Fire is going to face Ban for a long time otherwise the developers wouldn’t have taken such a huge step.  The rename also suggests that Garena will continue its operations in India through Free Fire Max as it is not banned yet.
