After having a successful 2021 for its esports scene, Battlegrounds Mobile India has announced its roadmap for 2022. With a new format, more tournaments, and a larger prize pool, the Krafton IP looks to increase its esports presence in India. Let us take a look at the various announcements made during the reveal.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports 2022 Roadmap

There will be four tournaments held throughout the year. These will be:
Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC)
Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) Season 1
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BMIS)
Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) Season 2

In the esports roadmap reveal video, the details of the first two tournaments have been revealed so far.

Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC)

The registration for Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge will start in the last week of February. The in-game Qualifiers will be held in March. From there, 512 teams will be selected that will advance onto Round 1 of BMOC. After battling it out in Round 1, 256 teams will move further into Round 2. From there, only 64 teams will qualify for Round 3. Finally, 24 teams will be selected from Round 3 of BMOC who will then advance into the next tournament, the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 1. 

Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) Season 1

In the Qualifier stage, 24 teams who have qualified from the Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge Round 3 will compete with the teams invited for the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 1. Only a total of 24 teams will advance into the League Stage of BMPS Season 1.

In the League Stage, the 24 teams will compete against each other in the Round Robin format. Only 16 teams will qualify from here to play in the Grand Finals of the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 1. These teams will compete for a total prize pool of Rs. 2 crores. 

After the BMPS Season 1, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BMIS) 2022 will be held which will be followed by the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) Season 2. Details about both of these tournaments will be revealed on the official Battleground Mobile India social media channels at a later date.
