Valorant Mobile may be on the way, but Riot Games appears to have even bigger plans. New job postings from the game developer and publisher indicate that work on a Valorant console game is underway, transforming Riot's popular tactical shooter into a true multi-platform title. There is currently no word on a release date. With the new generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles now available, it would make perfect sense for Valorant to be announced on console, but we are still waiting for an official word.

The position in question is Senior Game Designer, Console on Riot's Valorant team. According to the job description, "as a Senior Game Designer, you will design, tweak, and optimise the player experience." It also mentions "Your analytical abilities, player insight, and creativity contribute to the creation of in-game and out-of-game experiences that engage and surprise players." 

According to the job description, "you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and work with every tool at your disposal to innovate and iterate player-focused designs that will delight millions around the world." Create and improve features, modes, and systems to aid in the release of console game products."

Even though it's a little early to assume a console version is on the way, we're noticing a pattern here. When rumors of a mobile version began to circulate, we had confirmed the information in a similar manner. Riot Games also posted a job listing at the time looking for a mobile gaming development team. After all of that, Riot Games has finally announced a mobile version of VALORANT that will be available soon. Given how similar the circumstances are, we can sense a console announcement coming soon.

When will Valorant be released on consoles?

There has been no official confirmation from Riot, but Valorant for console will most likely not be released until Valorant Mobile is released. Riot's Donlon stated last year that she was hoping for a "Year Two" announcement for mobile, referring to Valorant's second year of release. This would place Valorant Mobile's launch date in 2022. Given this timeline, we could see a Valorant console release date as early as late 2022.
