Elden Ring is just around the corner, and it is likely that you, like me and a major portion of the gaming community are very much hyped for it. The release for Elden Ring is set to happen on February 25, 2022, and is probably the largest project that FromSoftware has worked on yet. Anyway, in a new tweet, two new playable classes for the game have been revealed. These two classes are the Confessor and Samurai.

CONFESSOR: A church spy adept at covert operations. Equally adept with a sword as they are with their incantations.

SAMURAI: A capable fighter from the distant Land of Reeds. Handy with katana and longbows.

We also have a brief description of both of these classes. The Confessor is described as a church spy that is adept at covert operations. Well, it is a spy, obviously, stealth and covert are the primary traits of this class. It is also mentioned in the tweet that the Confessor is equally adept with a sword as it is with incantations. So, sounds like a class that specializes in sword combat as well as magic.

When it comes to the Samurai, he is described as a capable fighter who is from the distant Land of Reeds. It is mentioned that this class is handy with katana and longbows. Well, Samurai and katana have always been an iconic combination. There is no surprise here that the Samurai class is ‘handy’ with it. Whereas the Confessor was about both spells and swords, it seems that the Samurai class is more about swords, specifically, a katana.
Well, so, it seems that there is quite a number of options when it comes to choosing a class in Dark Souls. Although each of these classes have different descriptions, thanks to the RPG aspect, you can always build them differently and have them just as you want them. That is the beauty of RPG.
