Well, just last week it was confirmed that a new Call of Duty is going to be released in this 2022 and that Infinity Ward is indeed making it. Not much else was known about that, at least when it comes to official information, but now all of that has changed with the new community update made on Call of Duty’s official website. Click here to check the main blog post. There were various speculations as to what will be the name and even the chronological order of this game. The most popular rumor was that it will be a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019, and now it seems that it is absolutely correct. The new Call of Duty game that we are getting is undoubtedly the sequel to the Modern Warfare that we got in 2019. Do not get it confused with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which was released way back in 2007.

So, finally, after so much speculation, and all types of rumors, now it is official. The next Call of Duty game that is releasing this year is indeed going to be a sequel to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019), and that is not all. Activision also states that there will be a new Warzone. This will be a full sequel, and both the new Call of Duty game and the new Warzone are being developed on a new engine. And, both of these projects are being led by Infinity Ward.

No one expected that such a major announcement would be made by Activision in a basic community update. But, then again, surprises are always interesting, and something we all enjoy, don’t we? According to this new community update, we can expect a massive, and substantial evolution of Battle Royale with an “all-new playspace” and also a new sandbox mode

Unfortunately, there is no release date, apart from the fact that these two games are releasing this year itself. Well, a new Call of Duty game is always good news for FPS fans. Not to mention, we even know that the new Call of Duty will be indeed available on PlayStation as well, which many thought would not be the case, as Microsoft acquired Blizzard Activision. But, Microsoft themselves have confirmed that the upcoming CoD games will also be available on PlayStation.
