Sniper Elite 5 is the upcoming instalment of the Sniper Elite series of games. It has been quite a while since we got the last Sniper Elite game, and now the upcoming Sniper Elite 5 is set to release tihs year itself. However, we do not have a specific release date as of now. Anyway, a new cinematic trailer for the game has now been released, and it seems that this time around, we are going to have a really unique feature that will be a first in Sniper Elite games.

This is the Invasion feature that we have seen in Dark Souls games before. This feature was also planned for DOOM Eternal, however, that did not happen, anyway that is a different story for a different day. But, what we do know for sure is that Sniper Elite 5 is going to have the Invasion feature. For those of you who are unaware about the invasion’s mechanics. It is the feature where players can join other player’s sessions and play against them. The new cinematic trailer that we got today delves into details about this and also provides some other details regarding the game. Check out the trailer below:

So, the players will be invading as an Axis sniper, and your goal, as the goal of every Axis sniper was, is to take out the Allied players. Not only the player, but if the player is playing with friends in co-op, you would have to take them out as well. And, if you are the one who is being invaded, then your task is to take out the invader before he/she can take you out.

To spice things up, both the Axis and Allied snipers will have unique abilities during invasions. Axis snipers (invaders) would be able to make the AI soldiers more aware, and thus make it more difficult for the Allies. Furthermore, once the AI soldiers are tagged, the Eagle Eyes skill is enabled which will alert the the invader when the soldier spots the Allied player, and the last known location of the Allied player will be marked on the map.

When it comes to the unique abilities of Allied snipers, it seems thee is not much to be honest. The Allied can spot the last-known location of the invading Axis sniper b using the invasion phones which are spread throughout the sandbox. However, these can be booby trapped, and if you use them too much, you will end up revealing your own location.

The player to win the duel would be awared with weapon, skins, etc. Furthermore, if you have invasion mode neabled you would also be earning additional XP. So, all this seems really fun, and also worthwhile.
