In early November 2021, Astralis announced the signing of Complexity's Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and Benjamin "blameF" Bremer. Alexander "ave" Holdt was also said to be joining the team as a coach. As a result, dupreeh, Magisk, and zonic were benched for nearly two months in order to make room for the newcomers.

In addition, a report from 1pv.fr in November hinted at a revamp of Vitality's lineup. According to reports, the French lineup was set to go international by replacing the ousted Astralis three with Richard "shox" Papillon, Jayson "Kyojin" Nguyen Van, and Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam at the end of the year. Since then, Vitality has confirmed that shox and XTQZZZ are no longer with the team. Shox's two-year stint at Vitality came to an end with his departure. During that period, Shox was a part of many of the team's most memorable experiences, including victories at EPICENTER 2019, IEM Beijing 2020 Europe, BLAST Premier Fall 2020, and IEM Winter 2021.

Vitality came in third place at the BLAST Premier: World Final 2021, which took place from December 14 to 19. Vitality also confirmed XTQZZZ's departure on Twitter. According to 1pv.fr, the former Vitality coach hopes to join G2 Esports. In a farewell tweet, Astralis has now officially confirmed the CS:GO stars' departure, bringing the Vitality jigsaw one step closer to completion.
