Nabil "Nivera" Benrlitom has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Upcoming. COVID was apparently contracted by Team Liquid's newest member several weeks previous to the event, but he has since recovered.
 
Despite testing positive for COVID-19, Team Liquid's newest member will still compete at VCT Champions.

For some clarification:

- Yes, Nivera is playing for Liquid during the event.
- Nivera will not be playing in the arena because he has to isolate in accordance with Germany's rules.
- The event is still on LAN; Nivera will still play on the same ping etc like normal.

Nivera is the newest addition to the VALORANT lineup of Team Liquid. Formerly a substitute player for Team Vitality in CS:GO, the Belgian FPS player now plays for Team Liquid's VALORANT alongside his brother, ScreaM. Nivera, despite being fresh to Riot's tactical shooter, has already taken up the new challenge. Team Liquid hasn't lost a game since adding Nivera to the team, and they've established themselves as one of the EMEA region's favourites. Nivera, who has only been a VALORANT pro for a few months, will compete in the year's final international competition.

The player will be competing in the forthcoming VCT Champions event despite of being affected by COVID-19. The inaugural of the VALORANT Champions Tour, event will determine the first VALORANT World Champion. COVID instances have lately risen in Germany, and Nivera's infection occurred beyond the tournament's mandatory isolation period.

16 teams will fight for the first VALORANT World title in the year's last international event. If Team Liquid wins their first game against KRU in Group B, they will face either Sentinels or Furia in the second round. Riot Games has declined to comment on Nivera's COVID-19 predicament.
