On November 27, the 24-year-old striker was taking part in an online FIFA 22 event. However, it clashed with a Premier League match he was scheduled to appear in.

He informed his opponent that he would miss check-in for the online game because the latter was clearly more vital. Because of the real-life interruption, his opponent was given a free win and wished him luck in the forthcoming football match.

Jota went on to play in the real-life Nov. 27 match against Southampton, in which Liverpool thrashed 4-0. Jota did not only play, but he also scored two goals in the first half. After his first, he held a party for all the FIFA gamers out there.

Diogo grabbed a seat in front of the fans after scoring his first goal just two minutes into the game and pretended to be playing the game at home on the sticks.

The Portuguese player, who most likely earned himself a berth on the Team of the Week with this effort, is a longstanding FIFA video game lover. He's even said that the game has helped him become a better player on the field. It could be accurate, given that he scored two goals in less than 40 minutes after entering the game.
