As the first domestic LAN event in VALORANT history, the North American Last Chance Qualifier was eagerly anticipated. The event was set to feature the final NA teams competing for the final VCT Champions spot. There have been many ups and downs during the event. As a result, the event has been postponed indefinitely.

"Out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of all involved top of mind, we have made the painful decision to postpone the event till further notice," according to the VCT NA Twitter. In addition, the tournament will be converted to an entirely online format. There has been no word on when the event will be rescheduled or restarted.

The presence of positive COVID-19 testing, as well as recurrent server difficulties, raised major worries about the LAN event. When competing against those playing remotely, those who were forced to play at the venue were actually at a disadvantage. Now that the tournament's competitive integrity has been questioned, it's uncertain whether the competition will be totally restarted or merely resume where it left off.

In the case of the COVID scare, two FaZe Clan players are said to have tested positive for the virus. Despite the fact that both players claimed the tests were false positives, health and safety regulations obliged them to quarantine once more.

Riot Games did not intend to start domestic LAN for VALORANT in this manner, but the current epidemic has tremendously affected the esports sector. This isn't likely to be the last domestic LAN, but there's still a lot to work on before the start of the next competitive season.
