Agent, a game developed by Rockstar Games' San Diego facilities but never released, must be lurking somewhere in the company's drawers. The developer's years of silence have given a few details here and there, virtually always outside of official channels. Nobody expected it to come back in any form, but the removal of its page from the official website confirms, if possible, its permanent demise.

The hush has been so deafening that Rockstar has never officially declared the game's demise. It was first revealed as a PlayStation 3 exclusive in 2009. Since then, the information has gradually faded until it has completely vanished. When trying to access the Agent website, the link now takes you to the home page.

It had long been assumed that the game will be canceled. However, in 2018, Gamespot reported that Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, has lost the rights to the Agent name. Or, to be more precise, it had not completed the documentation necessary to renew the brand.

Agent's developers were apprehended in Egypt.

Agent's development is followed by a weird scenario set in Egypt, during which they came to the country to begin the documentation process. Director Luis Gigliotti and his staff were wrongfully arrested. The authorities claimed that they had taped pornography, but they were able to depart the country in the end.

Everything indicates that Rockstar Games will release a collection featuring various GTA saga masterpieces. Take-Two has ordered the cancellation of some fan projects in recent months, but a GTA Trilogy has also been released. South Korea was the first to register it, and then it appeared in Rockstar's own launcher.
