The release of eFootball 2022 was a disaster for Konami, but the initial attempt to save the game will most likely take a while. In a message on Twitter, the devs made this obvious.

Nobody at Konami expected eFootball 2022 to be anything other than a hit with PES fans, at least not to the level that community criticism and unfavourable reviews greeted it. The fact that the game was designed as a Free2Play service game couldn't mask the reality that the release version was in bad shape. However, Konami welcomes the progress made, even if the first significant update is still a ways off.

Improvements promised: The first update has been released.

Konami's development team revealed the first significant update for eFootball 2022 through Twitter, after promising many enhancements.

It reads:

"Thank you for taking the time to play eFootball 2022. We apologise for any inconvenience the game may have caused you. On October 28, 2021, we will release version 0.9.1 for eFootball 2022. This release focuses on resolving issues that you have already reported and will continue to report in the future. When we have more information, we will contact you, and we will integrate your thoughts and requests in future updates."

One thing is certain: on October 28th, the first update for eFootball 2022 will be launched; fans will have to wait a little longer. The fact that Konami doesn't disclose any other details about the update's content leaves room for guesswork. It's possible that the creators would address issues with the gameplay first, such as the players' passing and defensive conduct, as well as their mobility sequences.
