Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris is the end-game PvP content for the game. This mode brings some of the best loot in the game with unique weapons, armors, and also more bonuses if you can get a 7 streak flawless card. Well, so far, Trials of Osiris could only be played with a full fireteam consisting of three players. Like players could solo queue, but they would often match up against pre-made squads, and these squads would obviously have better coordination and it will be difficult for the player solo queuing to go up against them. So, a freelance mode is what Bungie has finally added for Trials of Osiris. What is Freelance: Trials Labs? Well, it is a game mode for Trials of Osiris where it is just other solo players queuing up for the game.

So, any player who queues up here would be queuing up against other players that are not in a team. So, there are no pre-made teams or anything here. Just, all random players playing against each other. This mode is all about the solo players. Furthermore, it seems that there is some incentive to encourage players to use the Trials Labs: Freelance. There is double Trials XP in this new Freelance playlist.

Then there are also various seasonal challenges added. This can reward various things. For example, one of the new challenges is Trial by Firing Squad. It is one of the challenges I myself finished while playing, and all it needs to be accomplished is winning 20 rounds in Trials of Osiris. It would be rewarding the players with Reed’s Regret, the newest Linear Fusion Rifle added to the Trials loot pool. Also, the rewards upon having a full card, even if flawed, are increased. And, there are more chances of getting a high stat roll armor. All in all, not only is there a freelance mode for the solo players, but also improved loot. It seems Trials of Osiris just got a lot better. Not just for the solo players, but for the entire player base in general.

So, for players who finally wanted to be able to have a true-solo queue experience in Trials of Osiris, like you could with the Competitive Survival playlist, now you finally can. However, since it is a Trials Lab mode, it might be here just for this weekend. We might or might not have it next Friday.
