So, with all the PlayStation-exclusive games slowly releasing on PC, it was just a matter of time before the popular series of games such as God of War also made its way to PC. Now it has finally happened. God of War, the 2018 one that got released for PlayStation 4, is finally coming to PC. Do not get confused with the original that came back in 2005. And, the listing is already live on Steam. This just happened a few hours ago, there was no foreshadowing, no leaks, nothing. It dropped on Steam literally out of nowhere, and surprised everyone, in a good way.
So, when exactly does it release though? Well, the release is just like three months away, well even less actually. God of War is set to release on Steam on January 14, 2022. As for pricing, it is set at $49.99. How exciting is that? PC gamers will finally be able to play a God of War game without using an emulator? And, that is also the latest God of War to release so far. On top of that, since it is coming to PC, expect PC-exclusive features such as customizable graphics options, maybe even better graphics, support for ultrawide and 4K resolution, uncapped frame rates, support for special graphic enhancements such as DLSS AI, and Ray Tracing, etc. Although NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex has already been confirmed for the game. Ray Tracing is not confirmed yet. But, it should be made available to the game, even if not at the release, then later down the line.
Then, there is also the promise from the developers of a robust controller support. This includes the Sony controllers such as DualShock 4, and DualSense, along with other gamepads. Furthermore, there will be a fully remappable mouse and keyboard capability. Also, it turns out that with the PC release some new cosmetics will also be added to the game. And, that is all about it when it comes to what we know so far. More information would definitely be announced as we get closer to the release. But, till then, this is it.
What are your thoughts on this sudden bombshell dropped by Steam? Personally, I am very much surprised and overjoyed to know that PC gamers such as me will finally be able to play God of War on PC. Not to mention, the latest one that is released so far.
