Outcast came out back in 1999, and it was quite a hit. Since then, there have been many efforts to get a sequel for the game out. However, till now, there was absolutely nothing in regards to a sequel of Outcast. But, that is soon going to change now. An official announcement for Outcast 2: A New Beginning took place recently. So, yes, it is confirmed, and coming soon.
The work on this seuqeul began soon after the first game got released, however, it fell through because of financial issues of the studio, and the 2014 Kickstarter for Outcast Reboot HD also did not go all that well. Then, we got the Outcast: Second Contact. This was made in help with publisher Nacon, and the game turned out to be quite good to say the least. It was rated positively by the reviewers, and fans. And, that was the last of it till now.
And, now we have news for the next Outcast game, Outcast 2: A New Beginning. This will be a full-fledged sequel to the game. In terms of setting, it is set after twenty years after the events of the original game. This game will bring Cutter Slade back for a new adventure in the alien world of Adelpha. This time, the dangerous planet is under threat from ruthless corporations plundering its resources and enslaving its people, and it's up to Cutter to organize a resistance and drive out the invaders.
In terms of gameplay, it will still be a third person, action adventure, open world game like its predecessor. It will be having a non-linear story with dynamic plot progress. So, based on the decisions you make, the game would be very much different.
