A lot of games that were supposed to release somewhere around Q4 2021 are getting delayed. Dying Light 2: Stay Human is another such game now. It was expected to release this year itself, like in a few months. However, now, Techland, the developer has announced that it will not be the case and that the game release is now delayed to the next year. It is now releasing in February 2022, to be precise, on February 4, 2022. So, if you were waiting for the game to release, it turns out that there is still a good deal of time that you would have to wait for.

From the tweet, it is known that this delay is happening because of the ambitious nature of the game. There is a lot that Techland wants to do, and for that to happen, it needs more time. So Techland, unfortunately, has to delay the release of the game to the next year. The tweet states that the game is progressing steadily, and is quite close to its final form. The game has been completed, and the team is currently playtesting it. According to them, this is the biggest and most ambitious project that they have ever worked on. But, there is still a lot of things that need to be done to get it to the level where they, and the community wants it to be.
So, for that reason, they would have to delay the release. Techland wants the game to meet the highest expectations of the players, and they do not want to compromise on that in any way. So, the end result is a delay. However, it should be well worth it. With the extra time in hand, the team would be able to sort out the bugs, and other issues, and also make the game more enjoyable for the players. So, the delay is not all that bad now.
