The last time we got a completely new Saints Row game was back in 2013 with Saints Row IV. However, since then we have indeed got another Saints Row game, which was a remaster of Saints Row The Third. So, last week when we got news about the upcoming announcement of a new Saints Row game, things got quite interesting. However, back then we did not know anything much apart from the fact that it is not going to be a remaster, and instead a new game. Now, the new, upcoming Saints Row game has officially been announced, along with the release date, an official announcement trailer and various other details. So, without any further ado, let's talk about all that we know of the new and upcoming Saints Row game for now. Firstly, check out the amazing announcement trailer below:

As it was evident from the trailer, in this new Saints Row game the setting will be in a new city in the American southwest that is very much colorful called Santo Ileso. It will consist of various types of people from various races, so in terms of diversity, there is that. There will be nine different districts, and each of it will be unique in the way that each will have a different theme. Now, coming to the main characters, it seems that this time around it will be all new. In this new Saints Row game, the MCs will not be similar to those of previous Saints Row games. Instead, it will be a cast of new characters, young people that will become the new Saints, and the players will obviously be the new Boss. This new Saints Row game will be a complete reboot as the original franchise had really kind of  gotten out of hand with way too much over the top things happening.

Although there will not be old Saints Row games characters in this new Saints Row game, according to Volition, there will be plenty that the fans of the series will be familiar with. As for the main plot, this time the player will be the Boss yet again of this new group, and do all that is needed to become the criminal underlord, and take over the city of Santo Ileso. Being a Saints Row game, the players are guaranteed to do a lot of unique stuff to get to that point. This includes taking out the competitors, and the enemy factions, and also doing weird stuff like intentionally getting hit by vehicles to commit insurance fraud.

The game can be played both in solo, and co-op. Furthermore,the devs say that this time around there will be a lot of more customization options, equipments, weapons, the largest sandbox in the history of Saints Row, and a lot more. So,it seems that there is a lot that this new Saints Row game will have on offer. The new Saints Row is releasing on February 25, 2022.
