The Destiny 2's epilogue of the Season of Splicer has finally arrived. Some eager players believe that they
might have spotted a return of a long lost character in Destiny 2. The following contains some major
spoilers!
The Season of the Splicer will continue for two more weeks in Destiny 2. The expected story is now in
the game, as even though Guardians might have defeated the Taken Vex mind Quria a few weeks ago, a
still significant threat is around. It is from Lakshmi-2, the leader of the Future War Cult.
The Guardians can kick off the latest storyline by going to the Eliksni room in the H.E.L.M. But Lakshmi
believes the Eliksni as a threat and decides to open a Vex portal to banish the House of Light. She, in the
process, killed and unleashes the Vex on the Last City. The Guardians are duty-bound with finishing one
last Override to strip the Last City of the Vex.
The Override event of the Season of the Splicer mission takes place in the Eliksni quarters in the Last
City. A Harpy, floating near some Vanguard equipment, can be found. But this one has a blue eye, is
designated as a friendly unit. However, a Harpy is nothing new to this game as a whole adventure was
dedicated to a friendly Harpy in Nessus. This Harpy seems to be another missing character: Asher Mir.
The Harpy noted to beep the word "Assistant" in middle of intervals, which faint to hear yet Asher Mir,
the quest-giver on Io, and throughout his missions in vanilla Destiny 2 and beyond, referred to the players
as "Assistant" So this indicates a clear probability!
Asher, alongside others, disappeared during the Season of Arrivals when he chose to stay on Io after the
Darkness showed up in the solar system. It was assumed that Asher might have been infected by the Vex
radiolaria and turned into a Vex robot, but this Harpy suggests they may not be dead. Asher making
contact could be a key conduit of information. Asher was among the Vanguard's top minds; he's bound to
have a ton of helpful information in fighting the Darkness. After all, the Season of the Splicer is about
becoming friends of some of the Eliksni, one of humanity's oldest enemies in Destiny's story. This might
well be finding a way to make allies of all our former enemies to fight the much more significant threat in
the Darkness.
Destiny 2's next Season hits on August 24, corresponding to a Destiny 2 showcase with an upcoming
expansion, The Witch Queen. So players! Stay tuned and fire away!
