If you ever ask someone which is the most popular GTA game other than GTA V, the reply would most likely be either San Andreas, or Vice City. If you have played either one of those legendary games and were a fan of these, then I have some really good news for you. It turns out that both of these games, along with GTA III are soon going to get remastered editions. As for the platforms, it is going to be made available on not only the PC, modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series S/X), and last-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One), but it will also be made available on Nintendo Switch, Stadia and mobile. But where does all of this information come from? Well, it comes from one of the newest Kotaku reports. Click here to read it in detail. There is a lot to go over there, however, here we are just focusing on the bits we found most interesting.
Now, the next thing that you all might be curious about is when will we be able to get our hands on these remasters? Well, from what we know so far, it seems that they would be released pretty soon. How soon? Well, most likely somewhere near this fall. The report also mentions that the mobile, and PC ports might release in 2022. As for the console release, that is supposed to take place this year itself. Well, the GTA games that are getting remastered are not certain yet. However, from the rumors that we have been hearing recently, the chances are high of these remasters being that of the GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. These are the first set of GTA games that were 3D, and all run on the same engine. So, remastering these three together would be an easier job.
As for the engine that is going to be used for the remaster, it seems that it will be Unreal Engine. These new remastered editions will be using a mix of old and new graphical styles, and will also be having remastered, and updated UI, with the same styling as those of the original. Also, this will most likely be a remastered collection, and thus, will be released altogether. The only issue is that the PC and mobile ports might be delayed till next year. However, they might not either, so let’s hope for the best.
