The South Korean manufacturer LG is launching the Puricare Wearable Air Purifier face mask. With this mask, breathing and communicating should be particularly easy thanks to the fan and loudspeaker.

In January 2021, the gaming world was amazed when the manufacturer Razer presented the unusual Project Hazel face mask as a concept. It is a transparent, reusable mask with exchangeable air filters. With the Smart Pods, the mask should offer the wearer good breathability. While it offers a bacterial filtration efficiency of 95 percent, the mask does not yet meet the FFP2 standard

In March, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed that Project Hazel is actually about to be built and sold. The South Korean manufacturer LG has now also announced that it will build a face mask called Puricare Wearable Air Purifier. From August, LG will initially launch the mask in Thailand, before other countries will follow suit.

Exchangeable H3 HEPA filters are designed to provide protection
The market launch depends on the approval of the local supervisory authorities. LG is beating the drum around the current Olympic Games in Tokyo and has equipped the Olympic athletes of Thailand with the new masks. For better understanding, the Puricare Wearable Air Purifier has an integrated loudspeaker and microphone so that you don't have to remove the mask when speaking in order to be understood. In addition, two fans are integrated to make breathing easier.

In order to protect the wearer from viruses and bacteria in the best possible way, the LG Puricare Wearable Air Purifier has two exchangeable H13 HEPA filters that are supposed to filter 99.95 percent of dangerous air particles. It is unclear what the LG mask will cost. The rechargeable battery of the 95-gram mask should be enough for eight hours of operation and can be fully charged in two hours using a USB-C cable.

Razer has also announced a release date. The first batch should be available for order in the fourth quarter of 2021 and then also comply with the FFP2 standard, which should ensure effective protection against bacteria and viruses.
