The developers of Forza Horizon 5 have presented the different landscapes of the upcoming open-world racing game in their monthly Forza stream. The upcoming racing game Forza Horizon 5 will contain a freely drivable game world in Mexico. The furthest corners of the game world can be reached via the longest highway in the history of the Forza Horizon series. Now the British development studio Playground Games has presented the 11 biomes contained in a live stream. Each area offers its own soundscape so that it sounds different if you are, for example, in the jungle or in the city. In addition, the driving behavior changes depending on the area and the floor covering.
From the desert to the jungle to Guanajuato
The desert is full of rock formations with unique streaks, many of which are eroding into hoodoos that are unique to this canyon. There is also the tropical coast with palm trees in the east. However, tropical storms can also occur here, which affect navigation. As in previous parts of the series, there is arable land again. However, these rolling hills are filled with vegetation, trees, fruits, and wide rivers. In Arid Hills, on the other hand, there are dry grasses and plenty of open spaces for off-road racing. One of the special features of this biome is a lake that dries up in winter, opening up shortcuts over fast passages and secret areas.
In the jungle, you can admire a lot of trees and vegetation as well as a play of light and shadow. In addition to waterfalls, temples can also be found here, which were modeled on real sights in Mexico. In addition to rock formations, the living desert also contains cacti. In contrast, there is the rocky coast in the west, which has no vegetation whatsoever, but there are luxury hotels here and a golf tournament takes place there. Of course, Forza Horizon 5 also contains a sandy desert with dunes and a swamp with many mangrove trees. Right next to the living desert is an area with volcanoes. Only there you will have to deal with snowfall, one of the included weather effects .
In addition, the developers have recreated the city of Guanajuato in central Mexico, which is one of the silver cities in Mexico and founded part of the Spanish wealth in the early modern period. The city, officially a World Heritage Site since 1988 , also has some hills and tunnels. There will also be racing events such as the Emerald Circuit, which lead through two different areas and thus demand a little more driving skill from the player.
The season of the year changes weekly in Forza Horizon 5
The four different seasons will change weekly and affect the game world, as the developers explained in the live stream on request. In addition to some off-road areas, Forza Horizon 5 also contains a lot of paved roads. In the Apex Championship you will only be able to drive on roads.
Forza Horizon 5 will be available for PC on November 9th on Steam , the Microsoft Store , Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S. All Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play the open-world racing game right from launch day. There will be various customization options for both the character and the licensed cars.
