The gaming fans are excited about Battlefield 2042' and it is taking DICE's storied first-person-shooter
back to the future. However, as you take a closer look at the game, one will find that there is an element
from the past too. It is the presence of a multiplayer mode, which mixes some aspects of this game, with
the biggest titles of the series. The previous titles, which have been mixed, are Battlefield 1942,
Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3. This combination has led to the formation of a new mode
and they have named it Battlefield Portal. This should offer plenty of nostalgia to gaming fans.
It is amid everything the developer DICE has got a new name and it is Ripple Effect Studios. They invited
the press for an early glimpse of Battlefield Portal and we were shown before the announcement at EA
play 2021. It was during the show they gave us an insight into its impressive capabilities. This portal
brings in a mess of elements from various Battlefield games. They all come into Battlefield 2042
sandbox. The presentation showcased six chiefly remastered maps and first was Battle of the Bulge and
El Alamein from Battlefield 1942.
There were more and we could take the name of Arica Harbor and Valparaiso from Bad Company 2. The
Caspian Border and Noshahr Canals were from Battlefield 3. The maps however have been amped-up
graphically and with some purpose. It is to fit them into 2042's version of the Frostbite Engine. There
have also been altercations in some cases and that is with a purpose. The intention is to accommodate the
128-player matches possible in Battlefield 2042's PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions.
This portal has another special feature than just allowing participants the scope to jump into older
Battlefield maps. There is a revival of factions, classes, and roles from those Battlefield games. The portal
also has 40 vehicles and 40 weapons from the lot. It is precisely at this stage the development team began
to think of what more could be done with the portal. That is when they began to think about launching a
platform, which will allow players to create their custom matches and experiences. It is via the portal they
have created a system, which offers plenty of depth. It is easy to use because the portal operates from a
website rather than the Battlefield 2042 game client. A player should have access to it even while not
playing.
