EA has officially announced FIFA 22. The new edition includes Hyper Motion technology. In addition, it is now clear when the soccer game will appear and who will adorn the cover. Every year there is a new version of FIFA, and of course, this year is no exception. Publisher EA has now officially announced FIFA 22 with French superstar Kylian Mbappé on the cover. The new edition should impress with the Hyper Motion feature so that there should be particularly realistic gameplay on the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, and S as well as with Google Stadia. Hyper Motion combines machine learning with motion capturing of 22 professional footballers. The EA algorithm uses 8.7 million frames of recordings of real soccer games to create new animations and organic soccer movements in a variety of interactions on the field.
Hyper Motion not supported on PC
As the press release shows, there will be the new Hyper Motion technology exclusively on the PS5, Xbox Series X / S, and Google Stadia, PC gamers go away empty-handed. The new FIFA should also offer new features in the game modes career mode, Volta, Pro Clubs, and Fifa Ultimate Team. So it will probably be possible on all supported systems to build your own soccer club in career mode, to play the revised gameplay in street soccer mode Volta and to prove yourself against the new goalkeeper system. In the trading card mode FUT there are the new FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes, each of which is supposed to be a cult footballer.
Typical of the FIFA series is the comprehensive license package, so that there are over 30 different football leagues in FIFA 22, even if individual club teams can only be found as exclusive partners in the competitor PES. The German Bundesliga, the English Premier League, and the first Spanish league, for example, are still only available in FIFA. In addition, you can only play the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA Conference League as well as the Copa Libertadores and the South American Copa in FIFA 22. On October 1st, FIFA 22 will be released for PC via EA Origin and on Steam, as well as on Playstation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. The Nintendo Switch is operated with a Legacy Edition that does not contain any gameplay innovations and only offers updated teams. If you pre-order FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition by August 11, you will get a FUT Hero player, in-game currency, and four days earlier access to the new FIFA in December.
The standard edition comes out on Friday, October 1st, 2021, and includes the following extras:
TOTW-1 player
Kylian Mbappé on loan for five games
FUT ambassador as a loan player for three games (Alaba, Son, or Foden)
Career mode - own generation
As already announced, the standard edition costs 69.99 euros for the PS4 and 79.99 euros for the PS5. The game cannot be upgraded afterward. If you only want to change during the season, you should buy the Ultimate Edition.
The Ultimate Edition can be played from Monday, September 27, 2021 and includes some advantages compared to the Standard Edition:
All four points of the standard edition (see above)
FUT hero players ( if pre-ordered by August 11th)
Ones-to-watch player
Free PS5 upgrade
4,600 FIFA Points (equivalent: approx. 46 euros in the PlayStation Store without EA Play)
For FUT players, the Ultimate Edition could be worthwhile this time, as you no longer receive weekly packs, but can buy packs with the points as needed or put them in the FUT draft right from the start. Anyone who would have bought Points at the beginning anyway saves at least 46 euros. How to get the Ultimate Edition for around 80 euros instead of 100 euros, we have explained to you in this article:
