Rainbow Six Extraction is a game that is a spin-off on the popular tactical team vs team FPS from Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Siege. The game is going to have the same characters, with the main difference being in the plot and the gameplay. Whereas Rainbow Six Siege is all about two teams fighting against each other and is PvP. In Rainbow Six Extraction, it is the players against an alien infestation and is a co-op, PvE game. Rainbow Six Extraction is a survival shooter, unlike Rainbow Six Siege. The community’s reaction to the game has been mixed, and good for the most part so far, and the release is supposed to take place on September 21 this year itself. However, now it seems that the game is not releasing this year.
According to Ubisoft, the game needs more time and thus the release date has been pushed to January 2022. Ubisoft says that their ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full fledged AAA experience. And, it would be changing the way one plays and thinks of co-op games. In order to fulfill this objective, the team sadly has to delay the game to January 2022. However, Ubisoft also states that with so much additional time in hand, they are confident that Rainbow Six Extraction will be just like they want it to be. It will be the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience that they and the players both want.
No specific reason was mentioned. However, we believe that this could be due to the mixed reaction of various players who got their hands on the game. Ubisoft is not taking any chances and is not releasing the game until they are sure that it will be definitely as they want it to be.
So, if you were one of those who was waiting for the release of Rainbow Six Extraction, turns out, you would have to wait for even longer now. January 2022 is not coming any time soon after all
