An extremely rare copy of the very first game in The Legend of Zelda series is currently being auctioned. The first Zelda game was released in Japan in 1986 and the rest of the world in 1987. The auction is a cartridge with the addition "NES R", which was produced at the end of 1987 for only a few months. The auction currently stands at $ 110,000 with just under four days remaining.

Once again, a rarity in the gaming world is being auctioned off. This time around, it's a rare edition of the very first The Legend of Zelda game. The first game in the series was launched in Japan in 1986 and a year later in the rest of the world. A rare edition with the addition "NES R" will be auctioned. This version is of particular importance as it was only produced for a few months at the end of 1987. As early as 1988, the earlier productions were finally replaced by the "Rev-A" cartridge version.

The Zelda specimen is praised as a "grail" by the auction platform. The sealed, early production copy is of particular cultural importance. It is the only copy from one of the earliest production runs ever offered and it may be for some time to come. There is only one version of the first Zelda game, which is even rarer. This is the first production "NES TM", of which it is assumed that there is only one sealed copy. However, there is no telling whether this copy will ever come onto the market.

The "NES R" version on offer is currently up for auction at $ 110,000. In addition, there is a surcharge of 20 percent of the price achieved for the happy buyer. The auction is still going on for a good four days.
