The id Software team has released the long-awaited ray tracing update for the first-person shooter Doom Eternal. As the name suggests, the extensive patch includes raytracing support, among other things - along with many other innovations. In order to be able to enjoy the action game with the drilled out graphics, you need the right hardware. You should have an Intel Core i5 processor with 3.3 GHz, a GeForce RTX 2060 and 16 gigabytes to be able to run the game smoothly. With it you can at least play in a 1080p resolution with 60 frames per second - even if only with low settings. For the full splendour you need the following configuration: 64-bit Windows 10 Intel Core i9-9900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 32 GB of RAM Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080Ti, or AMD Radeon RX 6900XT But that's not all: The big update also has the new master-level called "Taras Nabad" which, according to the developers, should offer a completely new combat experience. Even experienced players should face a tough challenge. In addition, there is a new map called "Corrosion" for the battle mode, which leads you to a long-forgotten fortress, where the forces of hell have now spread - so it is certainly not a really pleasant place for a trip. Furthermore, you can expect numerous balance changes, which among other things also have an impact on the big campaign, optimizations for the battlemode and some bug fixes. The full patch notes for Doom Eternal's big ray-tracing update can be found on the official website. In addition, id Software has published a suitable trailer that introduces you to the most important innovations in the form of a mix of gameplay scenes and cutscenes
