We are into June 2021 and this is the time of the year when fans will be inquisitive on the next Call of
Duty game. As a fan, you are perhaps searching for information on the game and we have some big news
to share. There has been a new leak from Battle.net and this will impact the upcoming announcement
related to the next Call of Duty game. People ran into an encrypted build and they guessed that this was
the next COD. It recently appeared on the client and had a code name titled 'Slipstream'
We will introduce to you the source for such information and it is none other than Helba, the owner and
operator of BlizzTrack. This is an independent site, which keeps track of new assets, builds, which are
uploaded on the Battle net client. She runs a site dedicated to the Battle net and this was the reason to take
her word at face value. Helba communicated to the world about the reasons via Twitter updates. Her
Twitter account clarified that they had discovered this logo right beside Call of Duty 2021 assets in
Battle.net. She has more to say but this time via a separate tweet. She also shared a backend code and
Slipstream might just have an alpha before its release. These are some standard development for a Call of
Duty game.
Our focus also caught something special and we could see that there has been a stylization of the
Slipstream logo. As we took a sight at this logo it only struck us more and we grew in confidence
regarding this year’s COD. Rumors are floating in the market that this year the game will return to World
War. There are also people saying that the Slipstream may be a reference to the 2008 World War 2 radio
drama by the same name. The gaming world today refers to the project by its known codename, Call of
Duty: Vanguard. It was in May that the confirmation came from none other than Activision that it has
been Sledgehammer leading development on the game.
We would however suggest fans not to read much into the name Slipstream. Studios have the habit of
assigning code names to games and the real name might be announced later. They often are vastly
different from the final title. The logo however may share some characters with the final branding of a
game and fans can focus on it.
