At this point, almost everyone has heard of Rainbow Six Extraction. For those of you who are unaware, in 2020, Ubisoft came up with a spin-off of one of their most popular games currently, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. It is the survival shooter version of Rainbow Six: Siege, titled, Rainbow Six Quarantine. At least that was it was initially called. Later, due to the word ‘quarantine’ being similar to the quarantine we had in 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it got renamed. Finally, the result was Rainbow Six Extraction. A PvE co-op, survival shooter based around a spore-based alien invasion. Rainbow Six Quarantine is supposed to be released in Fall 2021.

So far, we have had lots of trailers, and information that got revealed officially, and it contains a lot of the Operators that are also present in Rainbow Six Siege. A lot of people started to believe that there would be various new characters as well. However, now it has been made clear that it would not be the case. Ubisoft says that the characters of Extraction will just be the characters that are on Rainbow Six Siege. But, that is necessarily nothing bad. As there are a lot of operators in Rainbow Six Siege anyway.

According to The Loadout’s interview with Extraction game director, Patrik Méthé, with the number of operators available in Rainbow Six: Siege the team has more than enough options at their disposal to make sure that all the angles are covered. The team did discuss however about making new player characters, but according to them, that bringing established characters to a new context would be more interesting than making new characters entirely.

There are 60 operators in Rainbow Six: Siege currently, and that is a lot of characters. As of now, only a few of them have been shown in Rainbow Six Extraction. It will be really interesting to see many of our favorite Operators interact with each other in Rainbow Six Extraction. We would get to see all of this in a few months now, and I am really hyped for it. Let’s see how it all plays out!
