In addition to a Displayport 1.4 with DSC, HDMI 2.1 is also installed, which means that the mini monitor also covers all the features of the new generation of consoles. Thanks to DSC (Display Stream Compression), 4K UHD is possible at a full 144 Hertz at the display port - the compression does not promise any visible effects on the image quality. The two HDMI 2.1 connections are also suitable for 3840 x 2160 pixels at 144 Hertz.

Since Asus aligns the ROG Strix XG43UQ monitor for gamers, VRR should of course not be missing. FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible are supported. Asus also uses Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB-sync), which can be used together with Variable Refresh Rate. The highlight, however, is probably the backlight with a peak brightness of 1,000 candela. However, the values are clouded by the fact that the ROG Strix XG43UQ uses an edge-lit system and has only a few zones - zones are not particularly effective in edge-lit systems anyway due to the design. Otherwise, it is worth mentioning 2x USB 3.0 type A, 2x 10-watt loudspeakers for emergency sound and headphone output as a 3.5-millimetre jack.
